Thanking our volunteer groups
Tis the season of giving thanks, and we want to offer a special thank you to the groups of volunteers that have assisted West Tuality Habitat for Humanity in 2024.
In this year, we have had volunteer groups that were made up of employees from different companies, members of various community groups and associations, and students from local schools.
In 2024, groups of corporate employee volunteers that assisted West Tuality Habitat with home repairs or neighborhood revitalization / cleanup events (Rock the Bock) came from:
Amazon
Excelitas Technologies Corp.
First Community Credit Union
First Tech Federal Credit Union
Intel
Oregon Women Lawyers (OWLS)
Peterson Cat
Siemens
State Farm
TheStandard Insurance
Thrivent
TTM Technologies, Inc.
Wells Fargo
Our social media posts about these groups on Facebook and Instagram are tagged with #CSR, which stands for Corporate Social Responsibility. Many of these companies have had groups of employees coming to volunteer with us for several years.
Members of community groups that volunteered with us in 2024 included Forest Grove PEO, which decorates the ReStore for the holiday season each December, and the Rotary Club of Forest Grove, which helped at homeowner through our critical home repair program.
We also hosted groups of student volunteers from
Catlin Gabel School, helping with neighborhood revitalization efforts.
Pacific University Lacrosse Team, helping with neighborhood revitalization efforts.
Forest Grove High School / Latinos in Action, helping at our annual Gala.

We also welcomed a Catholic youth group organized by Father Michael Vuky, pastor of St. Francis of Assisi church in Banks and Visitation Parish in Verboort, for neighborhood revitalization events.
All social media posts about these groups are also tagged with #volunteers as well.
Would your group like to volunteer with West Tuality Habitat? Groups of volunteers can help us with:
taking down and organizing in storage our holiday decorations in our ReStore in Forest Grove on a day in the last week of December.
decorating our ReStore for July 4th, including highlighting items related to celebrating the USA, in mid June (or taking down these decorations and organizing them for storage after the holiday).
helping to load ReStore customer purchases or helping to unload ReStore customer donations.
helping at a Habitat construction site.
helping at a neighborhood revitalization event.
helping at a Habitat outreach event, like our Builder’s Breakfast or our annual gala.
Group volunteer events are two to four hours long and involve a lot of walking, lifting and arm movement. Financial donations from groups or sponsors can help us cover the costs of these organizing and hosting these events.
If you have a group that would like to volunteer with us, please contact volunteer@westtualityhabitat.org with the name of your group, approximately how many people will be in your group, and what days and times you would be available. Everyone on your volunteer team will be required to sign a volunteer liabiity waiver.
